From years of wear-and-tear, a once-perfect exterior can become a major headache. Rotted and damaged wood can cause problems in the interior of your home, so it’s important to get to them before they get to you. We can replace rotted wood, shingles, and clapboards, paint the body and trim, and sand and re-stain dulled surfaces to make your home bright again.

Painting is notoriously misunderstood. Preparing surfaces for paint takes up about 80% of the work that goes into painting. The body and trim of your house needs to be properly prepared for a fresh coat of paint or stain. That’s why at Sorel Home Improvement, we mastered the art of preparation.

  • Full-service painting means we can paint or stain anything that you need! Trim, windows, garage doors, exterior doors, the body of your house, decks, and more!

  • Old worn down paint will be begin to crack and peel, exposing the wood beneath and possibly allowing the wood to rot. Before any paint is applied, any peeling or cracked sections of body and trim will be machine-sanded to free loose paint and allow proper adhesion for the new coats. Any stains or wood knots will be primed to prevent bleed though prior to painting.

  • Much like paint, stained exteriors need to be cleaned first and foremost, followed by machine-sanding to even out the natural color of the wood. After everything is said and done, The body of your house can be stained.

  • During our estimate, our estimator will look close for signs of rotted wood. We can replace small sections only where the rot is present or we can replace entire boards! New boards can either be wood or PVC trim boards.
